PROGRAM POLICIES, RULES REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES

All policies, rules and regulations will apply as prescribed for Postgraduate Studies at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences. However, the following program policies, rules and regulations will apply for the Executive MBA Health Management Weekend Program offered by Institute of Health Management and Research Sciences, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences.

SEMESTER REGISTRATION

Students are required to pay Semester Registration and Tuition Fee at the start of every semester.

COURSE MARKS BREAKUP

A 3-credit hours course has 100 marks and its breakup is as under:
  • Mid Semester Evaluation: 30% Mid Semester Evaluation will be conducted in the 10th session. This evaluation will be a combination of objective and descriptive questions.
  • Internal Evaluation (IE): 30% Internal Evaluation includes assignments, quizzes, presentations, projects and class participation.
  • Final Exam: 40% weightage will be of 3-hours final exam.

RE-TAKE OF MID SEMESTER EVALUATION

Students may apply for a re-take of mid-semester evaluations by submitting a written request outlining genuine reasons for their request. The request will be placed before the management for review and decision.

ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION

Following criteria must be met to be eligible to fill the Examination form.
  1. Students with less than 75% attendance will NOT be allowed to appear for the regular examination. Such students will be required to join classes with the upcoming batch to fulfill the attendance requirement.
  2. "No Dues Certificate" must be submitted along with the examination form.

NO DUES FOR EXAMINATION

Students must obtain a "No Dues Certificate" from the university's administration office to be eligible to appear for examinations.

RE-SIT EXAMINATION POLICY

  1. Only students who have previously appeared for the regular examination or have filled the examination form for Regular Semester Exams, are eligible to apply for a re-sit examination in case they’ve failed/ remained absent in any or all subjects.
  2. Students who are ineligible to appear for regular examinations due to attendance issues will not be eligible for re-sit examinations.
  3. Re-Sit examinations will consist of a written examination with weightage equivalent to allotted marks of any particular subject..
  4. Students are allowed to appear in Re-Sit examinations for a maximum of 4 attempts. After the 4th unsuccessful attempt, student will have to retake the course as per stipulated policy with applicable course fee.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Executive MBA Health Management Program at Institute of Health Management and Research Sciences, LUMHS, Jamshoro, has a standard attendance requirement of 75% for eligibility to appear in examinations subject to clearance of dues (Semester Fee).

Students who become ineligible to appear in semester examinations due to mandatory attendance requirement will be Termed-Back and will continue their studies with upcoming batches without paying tuition fee again. However, a differential amount shall be paid in case there is any increase in tuition fee.

CONDONATION COMMITTEE

In exceptional cases, where a student is not able to meet mandatory attendance requirement due to any genuine issue, the management committee may consider granting condonation upto 10%. The student must provide valid reasons for seeking condonation.

FEE TYPES

Admission Test, Admission, Semester Registration, Tuition, Enrollment, Examination, Resit Examination, Synopsis/Project and any other fee pertaining to the Executive MBA Health Management Weekend Program offered by Institute of Health Management and Research Sciences, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences will be paid by the student during the program.

The University reserves the right to change its fee at any time without prior notice. All fees and other charges are subject to revision from time to time.

REFUND POLICY

Any type of fee once submitted is Non-Refundable.

FREEZE POLICY

Enrolled students can get their program freezed if they are unable to continue studies due to any genuine reason. Students will be liable to submit Program-Freeze application to The Program Director with valid reasons and attachment of supporting documents if and as required.

REJOINING BY FREEZED STUDENTS

Students who have frozen their program may rejoin within 3 upcoming batches. However, a differential amount shall be paid in case there is any increase in tuition fee, registration fee, or if any other fee is applied to the new batch. Students can opt to freeze their program for two times during the entire course of study.

ADMISSION CANCELLATION

Any student who is absent without any prior notice (in-writing or email) for more than 90% of classes in a semester, the admission shall be considered as canceled without any intimation or correspondence from program management..

SUSPENSION

A student shall be liable for suspension from the program for at least six months if following acts are committed by the student.
  • Interferes with the administration, including the mode or schedule of the examination.
  • Indulges in acts of immorality.
  • Indulges in any kind of political activity, including displaying posters or placards within premises of LUMHS.
