BS HEALTH INFORMATICS & MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

The Bachelors of Sciences in Health Informatics and Management System (BS- HIMS) is a 4-year morning and evening program offered through Institute of Health Management and Research Sciences (IHMRS), LUMHS which represent an interdisciplinary realm of study with the primary objective of harnessing technology to effectively structure, analyze, administer, and interpret health-related data, all with the overarching aim of enhancing the quality of healthcare services. Its central objectives encompass the acquisition, classification, management, and utilization of health-related information to elevate healthcare standards, practices, policies, and clinical care guidelines.

In Pakistan, the healthcare industry has exhibited a relatively sluggish pace in adopting technological advancements. However, in the context of the burgeoning potential for economic and clinical benefits through health information technology, the adoption of information technology, especially electronic health records, has become an imperative necessity.
