The Institute of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Sciences, LUMHS, Jamshoro has been established in February, 2009 under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Dr. Noshad A. Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro.
There was dire need of establishing this Institution to impart qualitative medical education dealing with physical therapy for relieving pain, re-gaining strength and restoring function after serious injuries, illness and surgery. The degree program in Doctor of Physiotherapy is 05 (Five) years. It includes practical knowledge of physiotherapy by establishing an independent O. P. D. providing opportunity of learning by doing practical work to the students of the Institute.
The Institute is located at the rear end ( NORTH SIDE ) of the 2nd floor of the old Mehran Hostel of LUMHS. It has four (04) Lecture halls, two laboratories, one for Medical Physics, and the other of Kinesiology. One library equipped with all the books on the relevant subjects. There exist separate girl and boy student common rooms, Lavatories separately for boys and girls, and Faculty Members room in addition to offices of all the officers, and officials and pantry etc. |
