The Department of Surgery of Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Sindh , Pakistan , considers the training of residents and medical students one of its highest priorities. Its educational goals for under-graduate and post-graduate surgical medical education are accomplished by providing ongoing educational services, by implementing & evaluating educational innovations, and by conducting educational research to improve the quality of the medical education process. The Department endeavors to promote a positive and effective educational environment for faculty, surgical residents and undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical students. The department provides collaborative educational programs for medical students, residents and fellows.
Research efforts within the department are receiving increased emphasis and are expected to expand significantly over the coming years, due to the role of faculty members working under Tenure Track System.
The highly qualified Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Senior Registrars of the Department of Surgery provides a comprehensive spectrum of services, tailored towards accurate diagnosis and management of all surgical conditions in an inpatient as well as outpatient setting. The department has expertise in all surgical specialties and is interested to treat patients with any surgical disease. Surgeries are being performed in the major and minor theaters six days a week. Casualty services are being rendered on a twenty four hour basis with facility for conducting emergency surgeries. |
