The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ObGyn), Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro is committed to a process-oriented, team-driven, multidisciplinary approach to women’s health that underscores learning and research.
The mission of ObGyn is three-fold, to sustain itself as a valuable asset to the university, it’s affiliated teaching hospital and its strategic partners through Comprehensive clinical care, Dynamic graduate and post graduate educational programs and Progressive research studies
The Department of ObGyn provides training for University medical students, under the supervision of four highly qualified and experienced Professors of ObGyn, which include 4 lecture sessions in a week, plus intensive clinical teaching where students participate on labor and delivery, inpatient wards, clinics, ultrasound and the operating room at Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad/Jamshoro, Sindh Pakistan.
The Department of ObGyn is also recognized as a centre of excellence for Residency Programs in different post graduate degree and diploma courses/trainings, including Master of Surgery (MS), FCPS, MRCOG and Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
The Department of ObGyn conducts basic and clinical research in the areas of general obstetrics and gynecology, women's wellness, gynecologic oncology and reproductive health. Currently there are several on-going studies.
Among the other faculty members consisting of Associate Professors, Assistant Professors and Senior Registrars, there are two Assistant Professors working under Tenure Track System introduced by the Higher Education Commission Islamabad to promote research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. |
