The exclusive medical college for Girls Nawabshah came into existence in April 1974 and named as Nawabshah Medical College. About 4000 lady doctors have graduated from this College so far.
Initially the college was temporarily housed in portion of District Council High School consisting of a couple of hostels and auditorium (Latif Hall) along with the main building of Muslim Boarding House. The first batch was admitted with an approximate enrollment of about 200 students. Soon after the District Hospital was attached to the college for the purpose of clinical teaching.
The college since then has made progress in different phases, as more buildings have been added both to the college and the attached hospital.

BASIC DEPARTMENTS
The college has 02 academic blocks. One includes Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry departments with air-conditioned dissection Hall, while other one includes Pharmacology, Pathology, Community Medicine and Forensic Medicine departments along with Administration offices, Academic Council Hall, Teachers common room, Central Museum, digital telephone exchange and three fully air-conditioned lecture halls.

OUR CLINICAL DEPARTMENTS
Medicine, Surgery, Gynae & Obstt:, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, Cardiology, Chest Diseases, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Neurology, Radiology (Ultrasonography /C.T. Scanning), Neurosurgery, Urology, Nephrology & Paeds Surgery. Now additional facility of lithotripsy has been introduced on Hospital side.
The total number of students at present is 800 from first year to final year MBBS. On the teaching faculty side there are 18 sanctioned posts of professor, 20 Associate Professors, 44 Assistant Professors, 15 Senior Registrars and 58 Demonstrators. At present the college is affiliated with Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences, Jamshoro. The college is permanently recognized by PM&DC. The postgraduate courses including FCPS-Part-I & Part-II, MS. (Surgery), M.D (Medicine), D.C.P., D.G.O., D.C.H., D.O., D.A., D.L.O., D.C.P.S., are regularly conducted at NMC Nawabshah. All the undergraduate and postgraduate examinations are conducted by LUMHS regularly. The undergraduate examination includes 100% MCQ theory and Viva Voce and Practical examination.
A beautiful C.P.S.P regional office has been introduced in the College premises fully air-conditioned with full Library facilities under MoU between NMC & C.P.S.P.

RESIDENTIAL FACILITIES
The college has five hostel blocks (A to E) having a capacity to accommodate 800 students with all necessary facilities and 02 recently air-conditioned T.V lounges. One water filter plant for drinking purposes of more than 1200 gallons has been installed in Hostel and residential area with electric water cooler.

COLLEGE LIBRARY
The existing two storeyed library has at present about 11,000 reference books and 37,000 text books and various new editions of medical journals. Yet another new and more spacious (2 storey) library building has been recently built up which will cater to the needs of under graduate & postgraduate students. Lending facilities are also available. New Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is also established with CD ROM & Multimedia facilities.

TRANSPORT FACILITIES
The College has two Bedford Buses, two Mazda Buses and one Toyota Van, which are used for daily pick & drop of the local students as well as for the Excursion / study tours of the students.

MISCELLANEOUS FACILITIES
The College campus is a secured area and has spacious well-manicured lawns for various student activities. The main auditorium (recently air-conditioned Latif Hall) with seating capacity of 500 persons is presently being utilized for curricular & extra-curricular activities. For students sports there is a Gymnasium, Badminton Court and Basket Ball Court. A new double storeyed “Student Visitors Compartment” has also been constructed recently. Other necessary facilities like Mess / Canteen, Shops, Bank, Post Office, PCO, Telips Booths are also available within the College boundary.

ATTACHED HOSPITAL
The attached Nawabshah Medical College Hospital has total bed strength of 870 at present. The Hospital is equipped with most of the modern equipments and medical gadgetry. There are three Centrally Air-conditioned, Operation Theatres. Old and New OPD cum casualty blocks are consisting of Medical, Surgical, Peads, ENT, Eye, Gynae: & Obs:, Chest, Cardiology, Skin, Psychiatry, Neurosurgery, Urology, Pediatric Surgery and Nephrology OPD’s with the facilities of Radiology Ultrasonography, C.T. Scanning and have well organized Pathological Lab to cater all modern diagnostic findings.

FOREIGN NATIONAL STUDENTS
More than sixty foreign national students belonging to different countries are studying in this college since last 05 years
